Johnson-Rose wax paper
The only wax paper I have ever used has been the type on a roll. These wax paper squares seem slightly thinner than the roll paper, but they are still sturdy and should do their job well. My complaint is that, unlike the photo above, the paper did not come in a marked box with a dispenser opening. It came wrapped in plain, white paper (like butcher's paper) so that will make it slightly more difficult to store and use. I'm going to try putting it in a plastic sandwich container just to make sure it stays clean, dry and organized.
As the description states, there are holes on two corners so that the paper can be used on a spindle. So I guess they expected that everyone would hang the entire bundle of paper from a spindle and a box wasn't necessary. Bummer.
Useful Item For Pressing Lots of Hamburgers
I do not know much about different wax paper. But I found that these are a lot easier to work with then regular wax paper when you are using it to divide hamburger patties for freezing. A definite must if you are using a hamburger press I tried using an aluminum hamburger press without having the wax paper already on the press and could not get the hamburger off the press without ruining the patty.
Horrible packaging but fine for geometry explortation
After opening the box, my item, which should have been securely and safely wrapped, was open on 2 sides. Ironically, the sticker on the item says, "Maximum outer protection keeps out harmful contaminants." Really? How do you keep contaminants out of an opened package?
As far as my purpose goes for using the patty papers, they are intended to be an instrument in geometry exploration with middle schoolers. True to form, the patty papers did what I expected them to do, and the students enjoyed using them. Do I have the 1500 that I should have? I have no idea because the package looked like it was opened and used prior to arrival.
I'm very disappointed with how this company shipped this item and will think twice before purchasing again. I will probably spend a little more money and make my next purchase from a reputable supplier. At least I'll know I'm getting exactly what I'm paying for.
I'd NEVER use these as hamburger patty separators, seeing...
